In November, 2004, I was invited to co-lead a crossing of South Georgia Island with my friend Dave Hahn. We were guiding a group of 9 clients from Geographic Expeditions, and following the famous footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew as they crossed the island back in 1917.
It was an amazing expedition with countless wonderful sights, sounds, and adventures.
This image was taken at camp just below the famed Trident - one of the major features Shackleton noted about the crossing. The view is looking WNW back across the Murray Snowfield and towards King Haakon Bay.
